The Nature Reserve of the Isonzo River Mouth is the best area in Italy for bird watching and an internationally renowned nature site. The Grotta Gigante (Giant Cave) has the largest cavern in the world: the tour is 850 metres long, takes about one hour to complete and reaches a depth of 100 metres, at a constant temperature of 11°C.
